A Low-Speed Vehicle golf cart is similar to a regular golf cart, but it meets higher safety standards. This permits them to travel on any road that is 35mph or less.

  • It unlocks an exponential amount of new territory!
  • It enables you to visit more of your local favorites, such as Eddie’s Bar and Grill!
  • It also enables you to travel to different cities, including most of our local beaches! Fun fact: Did you know you can make it all the way to St. Pete Beach from Dunedin?! You can also cart over to watch the Phillies or the Thresher’s play at Baycare ball park.
  • It forces you to obtain the proper insurance. The hurricanes taught many of us a hard lesson. Luckily when you get your cart street legalized, you are forced to have limits that somewhat protect you.
  • Ensure your cart has the proper equipment
  • Get your cart weighed
  • Take 4 full- color photos of your converted cart
  • Obtain and complete all necessary paperwork
  • Submit the paperwork to the DMS
  • Obtain LSV Insurance
  • Get your cart Registered and plated at the DMV
  • Top speed is between 20-25 mph
  • AS1 or AS4 Windshield
  • Headlights
  • Front and rear turn signals
  • Horn
  • Stop Lights
  • Taillights
  • Reflex reflectors
  • Driver’s mirrors (at least 2)
  • Parking brake
  • Windshield wiper
  • Seat belt for each designated seat
  • Safety Triangle
  • Lighted License Plate Bracket

Yes. While you no longer have to trailer your cart to Tampa to get inspected, you still have to get a certified weight slip. This means you still need to trailer your golf cart to a certified weigh station

You can get this done at Sarnago and Son’s in Clearwater: 1741 N Keene Rd, Clearwater, FL 33755

If you do not have a truck and trailer, we offer the service.

You will submit your paperwork to your local department of motorist services (Tampa):

5701 E. Hillsborough Ave.
Suite #2228
Tampa, FL 33610

It can take up to a week to hear back (or more if submitted around the holidays). The DMS will let you know if you need to make corrections or not.

If all goes well, they will approve your application and provide you with the Title and Vin number.

After obtaining your title and Vin number, you need to call your insurance provider and have them create a policy for your LSV.

So many insurance providers write LSV policies incorrectly, and some companies do not even cover LSVs (minimum of 10K PDL and PIP).

This is why we highly suggest going through a reputable agent like Denise Diccicio from Comparion insurance. She knows what to do and gets it done fast!

Give her a call:

Bring your insurance card and Title to your local DMV and then they will register and plate your LSV. That’s all folks!

We highly recommend having a reputable dealer navigate this process for you. The cost difference to do it yourself vs having a dealer do it are slim. And it is an extremely time consuming process if you have never done it before.
